☯️ 無妄 (Wú Wàng) - Innocence
Innocence. Supreme success. Perseverance furthers. If someone is not as he should be, he has misfortune, and it does not further him to undertake anything. - Under heaven thunder rolls: all things attain the natural state of innocence. Thus the kings of old, rich in virtue and in harmony with the time, fostered and nourished all beings.
Verses
Verse 1
無妄,元亨利貞
wú wàng, yuán hēng lì zhēn
Innocence. Supreme success. Perseverance furthers.
Verse 2
初九:無妄往,吉
chū jiǔ: wú wàng wǎng, jí
Nine at the beginning: Innocent behavior brings good fortune.
Verse 3
六二:不耕獲,不菑畬
liù èr: bù gēng huò, bù zī yú
Six in the second place: If one does not count on the harvest while plowing, nor on the use of the ground while clearing it, it furthers one to undertake something.
Verse 4
六三:無妄之災
liù sān: wú wàng zhī zāi
Six in the third place: Undeserved misfortune. The cow that was tethered by someone is the wanderer's gain, the citizen's loss.
Verse 5
九四:可貞,無咎
jiǔ sì: kě zhēn, wú jiù
Nine in the fourth place: He who can be persevering remains without blame.
Verse 6
九五:無妄之疾,勿藥有喜
jiǔ wǔ: wú wàng zhī jí, wù yào yǒu xǐ
Nine in the fifth place: Use no medicine in an illness incurred through no fault of your own. It will pass of itself.
Verse 7
上九:無妄行,有眚,無攸利
shàng jiǔ: wú wàng xíng, yǒu shěng, wú yōu lì
Nine at the top: Innocent action brings misfortune. Nothing furthers.
