🔥 Yasna 29 - The Cow's Lament

gə̄uš urwā̊ gərəždā ahurāi mazdāi

The Soul of the Cow lamented unto You, O Mazda: For whom did You create me? Who fashioned me?

tōi ahurā yə̄ frāōrətō.təməm

To her did Ahura Mazda reply: We have created you who are the master of judges for the living world.

vaēdā aēšəmahyā drvatō paitištātāram

The creators and overseers know not the righteous way. The cow is given to evil masters who harm her.

tat mōi dātā gə̄ušcā urwānō garō

Then spoke the Soul of the Cow: Am I to know a powerless lord, the voice of a feeble man?
