🔥 Yasna 28 - The Path of Righteousness

ahyā yāsā nəmaŋhā ustānazastō rafəδrahyā manyə̄uš mazdā pourvīm spəṇtahyā aṣ̌ā vīspə̄ṇg šyaθanā

ahyā yāsā nəmaŋhā

With hands uplifted I pray, O Mazda, first of all for the works of the holy spirit, the good mind and truth, whereby I might please the soul of the living world.

yə̄ mōi dāt ahurō mazdā̊ manyə̄uš xratūm

yə̄ mōi dāt ahurō

These I ask, tell me truly, Ahura. Who at the beginning was the father creator of righteousness? Who determined the path of the sun and stars?

kə̄tat mazdā̊ vohū manå paitī jamyāt

Who, O Mazda, made the earth and the sky? Who made the waters and the plants? Who yoked swiftness to winds and clouds?

kə̄ paourvīm hvaētuš puthrəm ahurāi mazdāi

Who is the creator of Good Mind, O Mazda? Who made the beloved son as father? I ask You these questions, for I recognize You as the Holy One through Truth.

tat thwā pərəsā ərəžəjyā vācā ahurā

This I ask You, tell me truly, Ahura: Who fashioned honored Devotion together with Power? Who made the son respectful of his father by his own wisdom?

tat thwā pərəsā ərəžəjyā ahurā

This I ask You, tell me truly, Ahura: Who in the beginning, by wisdom, created the individual lights? Who made the darkness and light through wisdom?
