🔥 Yasna 33 - The Supplication for Guidance

Hymn 7 of Zarathustra

Verses: 4

Verses

Verse 1

According to the primaeval laws of this existence shall the Judge act with most just deed toward the man of the Lie and the man of the Right, and him whose false things and good things balance equally.

God judges justly between those who follow truth and those who follow lies.

Verse 2

Whoever, man or woman, doth what Thou, O Mazda Ahura, knowest to be best in life, for the Right give them power over Good Thought. And those whom I impel to your adoration, with all these will I cross the Bridge of the Separator.

Those who do what Ahura Mazda decrees as best in life shall be empowered by Good Thought.

Verse 3

I will pray to Ahura and to Asha with the desire of one who looks above in sacrifice. Reward me for righteousness through Vohu Manah; grant me strength through Asha, so I may bring others to you.

Zarathustra prays for the reward of righteousness and the strength to bring others to God.

Verse 4

Grant me, O Ahura, through Asha thy fire and Vohu Manah, that which fosters devotion and brings blessings. I will teach men to seek the straight paths of Right, that way which leads to the abodes blessed with the Good Mind.

Prayer for divine fire and Good Mind to guide humanity toward righteousness.
