🔥 Yasna 49 - The Struggle Against Evil
Hymn 14 of Zarathustra
Verses
Verse 1
Bendva has ever been a stumbling block to me in my effort to attain Asha. O Mazda, help me overcome the deceiver, for his falseness brings corruption to the world. Through Thy fire give judgment, O Ahura.
Zarathustra struggles against the demon Bendva (Obstruction) and seeks divine fire for judgment.
Verse 2
The wicked Grehma has chosen the Dominion of the Lie. He who first thought evil and brought death to Truth shall feel the vengeance of thy fire, O Mazda. But he who upholds Asha shall dwell in Thy kingdom.
The wicked priest Grehma chose lies; the righteous dwell in God kingdom.
Verse 3
When, O Mazda, shall righteousness overcome the Lie? When shall the companions of Good Mind prevail? My soul is weakened by the followers of deceit. Strengthen me with Thy divine power and dominion.
When will truth overcome falsehood? Zarathustra prays for strength against the deceiver.
