Judges 5:1

Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang on that day, saying,

Judges 5:2

“Because the leaders took the lead in Israel,

Judges 5:3

“Hear, you kings!

Judges 5:4

“Yahweh, when you went out of Seir,

Judges 5:5

The mountains quaked Yahweh’s presence,

Judges 5:6

“In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath,

Judges 5:7

The rulers ceased in Israel.

They chose new gods.

My heart is toward the governors of Israel,

“Speak, you who ride on white donkeys,

Far from the noise of archers, in the places of drawing water,

‘Awake, awake, Deborah!

“Then a remnant of the nobles and the people came down.

The princes of Issachar were with Deborah.

Gilead lived beyond the Jordan.

“The kings came and fought,

From the sky the stars fought.

The river Kishon swept them away,

Then the horse hoofs stamped because of the prancing,

‘Curse Meroz,’ said Yahweh’s angel.

Judges 5:24

“Jael shall be blessed above women,

Judges 5:25

He asked for water.

Judges 5:26

She put her hand to the tent peg,

Judges 5:27

At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay.

“Through the window she looked out, and cried:

Her wise ladies answered her,

‘Have they not found, have they not divided the plunder?

“So let all your enemies perish, Yahweh,
