Psalms 83

God implored to confound his enemies.

For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult;

They take crafty counsel against thy people,

They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation;

For they have consulted together with one consent;

The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek;

Assyria also is joined with them;

Do thou unto them as unto Midian,

Who perished at Endor,

Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb;

Who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession

O my God, make them like the whirling dust;

As the fire that burneth the forest,

So pursue them with thy tempest,

Fill their faces with confusion,

Let them be put to shame and dismayed for ever;

That they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah,
