元亨利貞,勿用有攸往,利建侯
yuán hēng lì zhēn, wù yòng yǒu yōu wǎng, lì jiàn hóu
Difficulty at the Beginning works supreme success through perseverance. Nothing should be undertaken. It furthers one to appoint helpers.
Verse 2
初九:磐桓,利居貞,利建侯
chū jiǔ: pán huán, lì jū zhēn, lì jiàn hóu
Nine at the beginning: Hesitation and hindrance. It furthers one to remain persevering. It furthers one to appoint helpers.
Verse 3
六二:屯如邅如,乘馬班如
liù èr: zhūn rú zhān rú, chéng mǎ bān rú
Six in the second place: Difficulties pile up. Horse and wagon part. He is not a robber; he wants to woo when the time comes.
Verse 4
六三:即鹿無虞,惟入於林中
liù sān: jí lù wú yú, wéi rù yú lín zhōng
Six in the third place: Whoever hunts deer without the forester only loses his way in the forest.
Verse 5
六四:乘馬班如,求婚媾,往吉
liù sì: chéng mǎ bān rú, qiú hūn gòu, wǎng jí
Six in the fourth place: Horse and wagon part. Strive for union. To go brings good fortune.
Verse 6
九五:屯其膏,小貞吉,大貞凶
jiǔ wǔ: zhūn qí gāo, xiǎo zhēn jí, dà zhēn xiōng
Nine in the fifth place: Difficulties in blessing. A little perseverance brings good fortune. Great perseverance brings misfortune.

上六:乘馬班如,泣血漣如
shàng liù: chéng mǎ bān rú, qì xuè lián rú
Six at the top: Horse and wagon part. Bloody tears flow.
