☯️ 臨 (Lín) - Approach
Approach has supreme success. Perseverance furthers. When the eighth month comes, there will be misfortune. - The earth above the lake: the image of Approach. Thus the superior man is inexhaustible in his will to teach, and without limits in his tolerance and protection of the people.

Verse 1
臨，元亨利貞
lín, yuán hēng lì zhēn
Approach has supreme success. Perseverance furthers. When the eighth month comes, there will be misfortune.
Verse 2
初九：咸臨，貞吉
chū jiǔ: xián lín, zhēn jí
Nine at the beginning: Joint approach. Perseverance brings good fortune.
Verse 3
九二：咸臨，吉無不利
jiǔ èr: xián lín, jí wú bù lì
Nine in the second place: Joint approach. Good fortune. Everything furthers.
Verse 4
六三：甘臨，無攸利
liù sān: gān lín, wú yōu lì
Six in the third place: Comfortable approach. Nothing that would further. If one is induced to grieve over it, one becomes free of blame.
Verse 5
六四：至臨，無咎
liù sì: zhì lín, wú jiù
Six in the fourth place: Complete approach. No blame.
Verse 6
六五：知臨，大君之宜，吉
liù wǔ: zhī lín, dà jūn zhī yí, jí
Six in the fifth place: Wise approach. This is right for a great prince. Good fortune.
Verse 7
上六：敦臨，吉無咎
shàng liù: dūn lín, jí wú jiù
Six at the top: Great-hearted approach. Good fortune. No blame.
